Indiana Licensed Land Surveyor since 2006
Graduate of Purdue University of West Lafayette, 1992

My experience in Land Surveying began early in the footsteps of my father Charles D. Hendricks.  His training and experience helped create a passion for the professional Land Surveying career.  Throughout high school and college working in the surveying arena helped me learn every aspect.  From the private field to the public field as my father was also the LaPorte County Surveyor.  A primary lesson learned from my father was to give back to the community in every way as thanks for all the community gives us.
It is this sense of community interest that brings about the desire to do the best job for all the citizens of LaPorte County.

My primary focus since elected to office in 2008 was to guide the Surveyor's Office into the technology age and beyond by bringing GPS(global positioning systems), CAD(computer aided drafting), and GIS(geographic information systems) knowledge into the office.  To get each employee trained and comfortable enough to expand their horizons into more advanced technologies.  To consolidate older equipment, copier, fax, printers, scanners, into one cost savings device.  To advance field tasks in the areas of safety and professional standards for section corners and drainage issues.  The goal of cross training, set by the County Council and County Commissioners to save money and lower the need to add more staff was embraced and all employees worked steadily learning all Surveying office tasks to become one cohesive work group and be able to jump in and take on any task needed.

The goals were set high and the Surveyor's office has achieved and exceeded them.  The future is bright and the Surveyor's office has plans to achieve even greater goals in the areas of online public access, mobile access, and partnerships between the recreational, economic, environmental groups.

The Surveyor's office has worked closely with all stakeholders in the Kankakee River to find separate funding sources and complete projects to enhance all aspects of the river.
The Surveyor's office has made great strides and is poised to advance to even higher levels in the years to come.
